2023’s Annual O&CSS Generations Event saw good attendance with 9 teams, including Oxford ’70s, Oxford ’90s, Oxford Mid-10s, Cambridge Mid-10s, and a number of younger teams.
On arrival at Farmoor, sailors were found a mirror instead of a lake, so the decision was taken to hold the AGM before sailing. As the wind filled, and the AGM wrapped up, the fireflies slowly trickled onto the water. A good time was had by all whether on the race course, in the clubhouse or helping out on the start boat.
After a close final, Oxford Mid-10s were crowned this year’s winners, before a number of the sailors headed to Oxford for a civilised curry – and a pint or two – in place of the unfortunately cancelled annual dinner.
Thanks to Ben Rahemtulla, who after a number of years as Generations organiser has handed the mantle to Hugh Tomkins – we hope to see Ben on the water next year! OUYC for lending their boats, and all those who volunteered on the start boat. Thanks also to Nigel Vick and Jeremy for the photos.
